Research and Scholarly Activity

Students benefit from access to staff who are scholarly and whose teaching and learning is informed by cross-institutional pedagogic research.

There were three main strategies in place to support the development of Research and Scholarly Activity within UPC:

1. Through CETL Fellowships and CPD Awards which allowed HE in FE academic and support staff to take forward individual research and scholarly activity with dedicated CETL support. Award Holders received funding for one year and were supported during this time, and afterwards, in a collegiate environment. To find out more, please follow the links on this site to the Award Holder Scheme.

2. Through a range of funded research and development projects with embedded professional development opportunities, the HELP CETL supported UPC staff to review their academic practices and disseminate the best of these to other colleagues.

The evolution of HELP CETL supported Communities of Practice either to provide the drive to undertake the work described above or the context within which the outcomes would help develop the student experience.
